Melvina Pearson

Melvina Delores Pearson, 81, of Waukon, formerly of Postville, died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Northgate Care Center in Waukon. Memorial Services were held Wednesday, February 25 at Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Postville, with Rev. Gary Catterson as the officiant. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Postville Cemetery, Postville.
Melvina Delores was born February 11, 1934 in Farmersburg to Orville F. and Emily E. (Schultz) Nuehring. She was baptized and confirmed at Luana Lutheran Church. Melvina was united in marriage with Ralph V. Pearson June 18, 1954 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
Melvina attended Luana School, Luana. She worked as a nanny in Dubuque, she worked for Iowa Turkey Products in Postville and for Monona Wire in Monona for over 20 years. Melvina lived on the Pearson family farm in Hardin Township all of her life until she moved to Northgate Care Center in Waukon.
Melvina is survived by her grandchildren, Kimberly (Tod Frieden) Pearson of Waukon, Kenneth (Toni) Pearson of Waukon, Kelly (Sarah Collins) Pearson of Waukon and Jeremiah (Jessica) Brainard of Waukon; her great-grandchildren, Ashley and Tyler Pearson, Anthony, Deven and Kennedee Pearson, Nathan and Jacob Pearson and Abbie, Ethan and Colby Brainard; her daughter-in-law, Gwen (Richard) Brainard of Luana; her brothers and sisters, Marranda (Dennis) Larson of Atkins, Orville (June) Nuehring of Monona, Marilyn Martie of Waukon, Owen Nuehring of Wells, MN, Marlene (Richard) Yauslin of Elgin, Margaret (Tom) Jones of Castalia, Oliver (Francis) Nuehring of Chester, VA, Omar Nuehring of Postville and Marcia (Dusty) Solem of Prairie du Chien, WI; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews.
Melvina was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Pearson; her son, Ricky L. Pearson; her parents, Orville and Emily Nuehring; a sister, Mary Ann Dundee; a brother, Otto Lee Allen Nuehring; four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
