The Waukon girls golf team got its 2015 season underway in fairly good fashion, defeating two of three opponents faced during the initial week of competition this past week. The Lady Indians opened the season by edging out South Winneshiek at home, 239-245, Monday, April 6 before having a Tuesday, April 7 dual at Charles City postponed to Friday, April 10 and result in a triangular event. The Indians finished in the middle of that rescheduled threesome, tallying 228 strokes to finish behind New Hampton’s winning total of 195 strokes but just ahead of the 231 team score posted by the host school, Charles City.
The Indians were slated to host back-to-back nights of competition to start this week, inviting Waverly-Shell Rock to town Monday, April 13 and Decorah Tuesday, April 14. The lady linksters will then host Decorah Monday, April 20 before playing at Caledonia, MN Tuesday, April 21.
