Waukon boys track team places third at Oelwein Invitational in only competition of the week

The Waukon boys track team had just one meet on its schedule this past week, the Indians competing in the Oelwein Invitational Tuesday, April 28. The Indians notched one event victory and two runner-up finishes - all in individual events, along with eight third-place finishes evenly split between individual and relay events, to help tally 95 team points and finish third in the final six-team standings.
The Indians were scheduled to take part in the New Hampton Invitational Monday, May 4 before returning to Oelwein to participate in the Northeast Iowa Conference Meet Thursday, May 7. The Waukon track boys will then host their own Indian Relays Monday, May 11 before trying to extend their season even further at the Class 3A State Qualifying Meet slated to be held at Decorah Thursday, May 14.
