Annual New Albin Days celebration to take place this Friday and Saturday

The annual New Albin Days celebration is scheduled to take place in the community of New Albin this weekend, Friday and Saturday, June 12 and 13. A wide variety of activity is being planned, with a schedule of events available on Page 2A of this week's issue of The Standard.
This year's New Albin Days button (pictured with this article) required for admission is available for purchase at most New Albin businesses and will be available on the festgrounds at this year's event.
New this year will be the crowning of both a Little Miss New Albin and Little Mr. New Albin. Entry forms are available at New Albin Savings Bank for boys and girls ages 8-13 living within the 52160 zip code. Along with the registration form, each entry is required to write a "Why I Love New Albin" essay and a judge will determine the winner of each crown.
Musical entertainment throughout the weekend will include the Craig Olson Project Friday night, the Toe Tappers Saturday afternoon, and Mike McAbee and Whistle Jacks each performing at different times Saturday night. A 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday morning and additional activities throughout the weekend include kids' games, car and vendor shows, fireman's waterball, a bean bag tournament and fireworks set for Saturday evening.
