Waukon boys golf team to open postseason play at New Hampton May 11

The Waukon boys golf team will begin its postseason tournament trail at the Class 2A Sectional Tournament Friday, May 11 at New Hampton, beginning at 10 a.m. The Indians will compete against Denver, MFL/MarMac, New Hampton, North Fayette Valley, Osage, South Winneshiek and Sumner-Fredericksburg.

The two lowest scoring teams (three lowest if one of those first two is the host school) and the two lowest scoring individuals (including ties) not on any of the top-two qualifying teams will advance on to the Class 2A District Tournament to be played at Fox Ridge Golf Club at Dike and hosted by Dike-New Hartford High School Friday, May 18, beginning at 10 a.m. Teams from two other Class 2A Sectional Tournaments vying for qualification for the Dike-New Hartford District Tournament include Aplington-Parkersburg, Colo-Nesco, Dike-New Hartford, East Marshall, Madrid, Roland Story, South Hardin and West Marshall from the Aplington-Parkersburg Sectional and Central Springs, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, Eagle Grove, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Hampton-Dumont, Lake Mills, South Hamilton and West Fork from the Hampton-Dumont Sectional.

Likewise, the two lowest scoring teams and two lowest scoring individuals not on any of the top-two qualifying teams at the District Tournament will advance on to the Class 2A State Tournament to be played at American Legion Memorial Golf Course in Marshalltown Thursday and Friday, May 24 and 25.
