Robey Memorial Library to host variety of events for Summer Explorer series

Children and families are encouraged to participate in Robey Memorial Library’s program series, Summer Explorers, to be held Wednesdays from 10-11 a.m. May 30, June 6, 13 and 20, and August 1 and 8. The program schedule is as follows:

• May 30 – Rock Painting Event for Allamakee Libraries Rock Community Project. Decorate a rock with a positive image or words; hide it in the community for others to find.
• June 6 – Geology and Native Americans with Ross Geerdes of Allamakee County Conservation. Explore how Native Americans were affected by area geology.
• June 13 – Recycled Wind Chimes with Green Iowa. Make wind chimes from recycled cans to take home.
• June 20 – Recycled Musical Instruments. Create your own unique musical instrument using recyclables to take home.
• August 1 – Karst & Conservation with Sara Berges of the Allamakee County Soil and Water Conservation District, who will lead demonstrations and activities related to sinkholes and caves.
• August 8 - Rock Painting Event for Allamakee Libraries Rock Community Project. Decorate a rock with a positive image or words; hide it in the community for others to find.
