Waukon softball team caps off four-game week with lone victory

The Waukon softball team played through a single-win week, recovering from a tough stretch early in the week with its lone win of that timeframe to currently hold a 5-12 season record, including a 2-7 mark in Northeast Iowa Conference (NEIC) play. That tough early stretch at home included an 11-0 loss to Crestwood Monday, June 11, a 10-7 loss to North Fayette Valley Tuesday, June 12 and a 10-2 loss to Waverly-Shell Rock Wednesday, June 13. That challenging streak was finally halted with a 12-5 victory at Osage Thursday, June 14 to wrap up the week.

The Indians were scheduled to play at Charles City Monday, June 18, host Decorah Wednesday, June 20 and play at Oelwein Thursday, June 21 before playing in the Decorah Tournament Saturday, June 23. The softball Tribe will then wrap up its regular season schedule with a Tuesday, June 26 home varsity doubleheader with New Hampton and its NEIC finale Thursday, June 28 at Crestwood for another varsity doubleheader.
