ACEC awards seven scholarships to area students ...

Allamakee-Clayton Electric Cooperative (ACEC), located near Postville, has awarded seven area high school graduates (all of whom are pictured above) with the Hauschild Scholarship. The Hauschild Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1995 in memory of Robert “Bill” Hauschild by his wife and family. This annual scholarship is provided in recognition of Bill’s dedication and service as a director of the Cooperative from his election September 10, 1988 until his death March 17, 1993. This year, a total of $3,750 in scholarship funding was awarded to seven high school seniors who are all entering a course of study within the electric field.

Pictured above, left to right, are the following scholarship winners listed with their planned areas of study: Tristan Hansmeier ($250) of Waukon High School plans to attend Minnesota West Technical & Community College in Jackson, MN to study lineman training; Jacob Steffans ($1,000) of Postville High School plans to study industrial and commercial wiring at Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar; Landon Berns ($500) of Waukon High School plans to attend Minnesota West Technical & Community College in Jackson, MN to study lineman training; Tanner Peterson ($250) of Waukon High School plans to attend Minnesota West Technical & Community College in Jackson, MN to study lineman training; Joseph Boehm ($500) of North Fayette Valley High School plans to study industrial and commercial wiring at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon; Levi Tuecke ($1,000) of Central Community School plans to study electrical engineering at Iowa State University; and Kyle Beck ($250) of Central Community School plans to attend Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon to study lineman training.
