The regular session of the Lansing City Council was held Monday, July 2. Discussion centered around the council reviewing pedestal and dock quotes for the Marina, adopting a multi-hazard mitigation plan and welcoming a new member to the Library Board.

The council discussed pedestals and dock quotes for docks one and seven for the City Marina. A Waterworks representative was present at the meeting to explain the whole process involved with the project. The Marina Board will discuss the offer and finalize the decision and discuss financing options.

Corey Snitker, Emergency Management Coordinator for Allamakee County, was at the meeting to have the council approve Resolution #904 adopting the multi-hazard mitigation plan, as well as discuss some of it. Snitker expressed how natural threats and disasters can happen and how the mitigation plan involves strategies to be implemented in those emergency situations to protect citizens as well as City property if something of that caliber were to happen.

The council also approved Janice Rea to be a member of the board of directors for the Meehan Memorial Lansing Public Library.
