Waukon football team pulls out 24-21 win over Algona, will face semifinals rematch with BHRV in the UNI-Dome this Saturday

The Waukon football team won a defensive battle in the second half of its Friday, November 2 home game in the Class 2A State Play-Off quarterfinal round, scoring the only touchdown of the game's second half to overcome a 21-18 halftime deficit and win a 24-21 thriller over Algona. With its 24-21 triumph, the football Indians have earned their way to the Class 2A State Play-Off semifinal round for the second consecutive season and for the third time in the last six seasons. The grid Tribe’s continued play-off success has earned the Indians a repeat match-up with Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley this Saturday, November 10 at 4 p.m., the first of two Class 2A State Play-Off semifinal games to be played that evening in the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.
