Ross Feuerhelm

Ross Feuerhelm, 62, of Decorah died Thursday, December 13, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 18 at 6 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon with Pastor Ken Kimball officiating. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ross Alan Feuerhelm was born December 23, 1955 in McGregor, the son of Glenn and Agnes (Juvik) Feuerhelm. He was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waukon and attended Waukon schools and a community college in Denver, CO. January 16, 1977, he married Regina Beisker at Lookout Mountain in Golden, CO.

Ross worked in the auto business for over 30 years; he never forgot a single car he bought or sold, right down to the miles and the interior. In 1990, they moved back to Waukon and later to the Decorah area. In 2000 Ross and his son, Mike, started Alpine Transport, Inc., an auto transport company. Alpine grew so quickly that he ended up waiting to have his cars shipped. Alpine was in business for 16 years and something he was always proud of.

Ross was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Denver Broncos fan; whether they were winning or losing, his positive attitude helped get him through many football seasons. What he loved more than anything was spending time with his grandkids. He spent a lot of time going to dance recitals, sporting events and school concerts.  Ross always had some good life advice and a hug you could count on. He’d recently taken up baking and had a great recipe for snicker-doodle cookies which he was very well known for. Ross was never one to turn down a cold beer or a cruise on a gravel road.

Survivors include his wife, Regina, of Decorah; his children: Gabriel Feuerhelm of Cedar Rapids, Mike (Julie) Feuerhelm of Decorah, Sarah (Joe) Christen of Waukon and Rachel (Blake) Breitsprecher of  Decorah; 16 grandchildren: Chloe Landt, Chelbe and Chylie Feuerhelm, Jeron, Marri and Audrey Feuerhelm, Nolan and Lucas Walby, Ellyssa, Kenric and Stella Christen, Treyven Feuerhelm, Raymond Calixte, and Chad, Drake and Kai Breitsprecher; his mother, Agnes Feuerhelm of Waukon; one brother, David Feuerhelm of Northglenn, CO; his mother-in-law, Arlene Beisker of Waukon; and his dear nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father; a brother, Kent “Buzz” Feuerhelm; and his father-in-law, John “Jack” Beisker.

Honorary casketbearers are Ross’s grandchildren. Online condolences may be left at www.martinfunerals.com.
