Waukon boys basketball team begins week with two-game win streak, has that streak snapped but winless NEIC stretch extended with loss at New Hampton

The Waukon boys basketball team played its busiest schedule of the season so far with three games this past week. The start to that week was very successful, with the Indians not only snapping a seven-game losing streak but also beginning a winning streak with back-to-back nights of victory, 82-49 at home over North Fayette Valley Monday, January 7 and 73-63 at MFL/MarMac Tuesday, January 8. The end to the week saw the basketball Tribe have that winning streak brought to an end and also extend a season-long winless streak, thus far, in Northeast Iowa Conference play with a 60-44 loss at New Hampton Friday, January 11.

Now holding a 4-8 season record, the basketball Tribe was next scheduled to host Oelwein Friday, January 18 for its only competition of this week. The Indians will then play at Crestwood Tuesday, January 22 and then at Waverly-Shell Rock Friday, January 25.
