Letter to the Editor: A letter to President Trump

Editor’s Note: The following letter was written to President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.

To the Editor:

This is probably the most important letter I have ever attempted to write and it may become too long but I consider all that is mentioned related to my reason for writing this letter. My name is Osmund (Ozzy) Quandahl, born in Quandahl, IA in 1926, and at this age I better not put off writing this letter.

I wholeheartedly supported Trump and appreciate what he’s done for our country. The tax cuts are great for the middle class. Moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, the support of our military and law enforcement, the support for Christians, our relationship and respect by foreign countries is much better, the list could go on and on. I had a very nice, well-dressed man come up to me while I was wearing a Trump cap and said, “I like your cap. I’ve been a lifelong Democrat and I voted for Trump and I’m very pleased. I think he is a godsend.” I said, “Thank you.”

Jesus was truly a godsend and look at the abuse he went through. We should all be praying for Trump’s success and be thankful for him. I don’t believe that any president has ever worked as hard as Trump, the hours he works with never-ending energy. He sure didn’t need the job, but saw the need and is now sacrificing much to serve our country.

Who put Trump in office? 1/4 good Democrats, 1/4 good Liberals, 1/2 good Republicans, and the other half of the Republican party that called themselves “Never Trumpers”? Why would I ever support the National Republican Party when they have so many bad Republicans? Look at the approval rating of Congress at 11-12%. They let our country down with their mismanagement and 21 trillion dollar debt. That’s why Trump ran and won.

Now to get to the meat of this letter, Mr. President. I want to tell you about a very special, talented man, that if you need advice or help on certain problems, he will advise you 100% right to fix most any problem. Don Zietlow and family, owners of Kwik Trip/Kwik Star stores, employ 1600 people in their stores and 400 people in their distribution center in La Crosse, WI.

That is a total of 2,000 Kwik Trip employees who are great Americans. They are always happy and smiling and eager to serve you. Wouldn’t it be nice if all U.S. citizens were like the Kwik Trip people?

I think that our Department of Education is a total disaster and should be abolished or have totally new people installed. Mr. Zietlow is 80-plus years of age but, like Trump, he works like he’s in his 30s. I think he would spend maybe two days a month serving on a think tank committed to solving America’s problems.

Another man you could invite is Mr. Culver of Culver’s restaurants. They have great food, super great people, the place is super clean and the price is right. Mr. Culver, like Mr. Zietlow, knows how to motivate people. It would be worth your time to schedule an appointment with these two people and look over their operations.

Mr. President, if you want an uplifting experience and some good ideas, make an appointment with Mr. Don Zietlow and fly into La Crosse.

Kindest Regards and God Bless,
Osmund Quandahl
