Carter Howe

Carter Steven Howe, 19-month-old son of Jacob and Carissa Howe of Waukon, died Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 7 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waukon with Pastor Wayne and Irmgard Ellingson officiating. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery, rural Waukon. A visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 6 at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.

Carter Steven Howe was born July 3, 2017 in La Crosse, WI. Carter was the happiest little boy with the sweetest smiles. He loved playing with his favorite toys, playing catch with his dad and big brother, and blowing kisses to everyone that stopped by. Carter especially loved snuggles, taking baths, and helping his mom.

He is survived by his parents, Jacob and Carissa Howe of Waukon; his brother, Landon; his grandma, Beverly Howe of Lansing; his grandpa, Steven Hesse of Decorah; his great-grandparents, Judy and Ray Koshatka and Marge Hesse, all of Decorah; his great-great-grandparents, Mavis and Darrell Frey of Decorah; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Carter was preceded in death by his grandma, Anita Hesse; his grandpa, Robert Howe; and his great-grandparents, Orville Hesse, Vernon and June Ronnfeldt, and Mike and Mary Howe.
