Robert O. Stock

Robert O. Stock, 99, of Waukon died Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 16 at 11:30 a.m. at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in rural Postville with Pastor Gary Catterson officiating and burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon or the Bethlehem Cemetery fund. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is handling the arrangements.

Robert Oliver Stock was born August 30, 1919 on his parents’ farm in Ludlow Township, rural Waukon, the son of Edward and Minnie (Fiet) Stock. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, attended Ludlow #5 Country School and graduated from Waukon High School in 1937.
December 30, 1941, he married Marion Kiesau on the Stock family farm in rural Waukon. They farmed the Stock home farm, milking cows and raising pigs and chickens. Robert and Marion moved into Waukon in 1984.

He was a lifetime member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and on various committees. Robert was a jack of all trades: an electrician, plumber, carpenter and a mechanic. He also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include his children: Sue (Danny) Schlitter of Waukon, Jack (Jan) Stock of Titonka and Mary (John) Holthaus of Dixon, IL; a daughter-in-law, Peggy Stock of Waukon; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marion, who died in 2000; a son, Jim Stock; a brother, Len Stock; and a sister, Gert Hansmeier.
