Roger Zezulka

Roger Raymond Zezulka, age 78, of Lake Wales, FL went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at his residence. A memorial service was held Saturday, March 9 at First Baptist Church, Lake Wales, FL with Dr. Scott Markley officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church, Lake Wales.

Roger was born August 11, 1940 in Waukon to Raymond N. and Lorrayne (Wild) Zezulka. He has been a resident of the Lake Wales, FL area since 1977, coming from Iowa/Illinois. He lived in Haines City, FL for 19 years, moving to Lake Wales in 1996. Roger attended a one-room school house through eighth grade and at that point he went to “town” school. He later attended Ames University. He served in the U.S. Army in the late 1950s.

During his younger years, he was a farmer in the New Albin area. He also worked in construction on bridges in Iowa. He later became a truck driver until retirement. Roger married Victoria Mills Fields August 1, 1977 in Galesburg, IL and they renewed their vows March 17, 1994. Roger was of the Christian faith attending First Baptist Church in Lake Wales, FL.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Zezulka, of New Albin; and one great-granddaughter. Roger is survived by his wife of 42 years, Victoria Zezulka of Lake Wales, FL; one brother, William (Esther) Zezulka of Clark’s Grove, MN; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Zezulka of New Albin; and eight children: Linda (Steve) Imhoff of Vero Beach, FL, Ronald (Deanne) Zezulka of Menominee, WI, Robert (Florence) Zezulka of Flagler Beach, FL, Mike Zezulka of Caledonia, MN, Robert Fields of Weatherford, TX, Ronald (Vicki) Fields of Tallahassee, FL, Marie (Billy) Jones of Lake Wales, FL and Michelle (TJ) Bolton of Auburndale, FL; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Roger had a special love of animals, most especially his dog, Annie.
