Black Hawk Bridge is open again ...

The bridge repair project to remove and replace several structural steel pieces on the Black Hawk Bridge over the Mississippi River in Lansing is now complete, and the bridge was opened to traffic late Saturday evening, April 20. Pictured above is a sampling of some of the work that took place during the bridge repair project, involving replacement of portions of the steel grid that makes up the bridge deck. The project closed the bridge from early Monday morning, April 15 through Saturday evening, requiring motorists to travel south to Marquette or north to La Crescent, MN in order to cross the Mississippi River.
