The Waukon girls golf team headed closer to the end of its regular season schedule, wrapping up its home slate with two final meets on the Waukon course this past week. The Indians first fell to Crestwood to open that home stand, 220-205, before suffering a similar fate against the top-ranked team in Class 2A, New Hampton, by a 226-180 final result.

The golf Tribe was also scheduled to play in a tournament at Decorah Saturday, April 27 but had that tournament postponed until Thursday, May 9 due to the weekend snowstorm. The golf girls were next scheduled to wrap up their regular season with a Tuesday, April 30 date at Oelwein before playing in the Northeast Iowa Conference Tournament Monday, May 6 at Decorah and then that May 9 tournament in Decorah. The Tribe’s postseason is scheduled to begin Monday, May 13 at Jesup, with details of that postseason trail printed in a shaded box elsewhere on the Sports pages in the May 1, 2019 print and e-edition of The Standard.
