Kee girls track team places fifth with depleted squad at Ed-Co, roars back to defend Upper Iowa Conference team championship

Seniors Brennan and Walleser combine for five of seven Kee UIC crowns

The Kee girls track team finished up its regular season schedule with a final week of two meets that included the successful defense of the Lady Hawks’ first-ever Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) track and field championships. The Kee girls first finished tied for fifth place with a somewhat depleted squad at the Edgewood-Colesburg Invitational Monday, April 29 but came roaring back full force to defend their UIC crown Thursday, May 2 at Clayton Ridge.

The Lady Hawks are next scheduled to compete in their Class 1A State Qualifying Meet that will be held at Edgewood-Colesburg Thursday, May 9. Details of those season-extending possibilities are printed elsewhere on the same Sports pages in the May 8, 2019 print and e-edition of The Standard.
