Robey Memorial Library hosting Waukon native Kealy Connor Lonning June 1 for author event

Robey Memorial Library in Waukon is hosting author Kealy Connor Lonning Saturday, June 1 at 10:30 a.m. for an author event.

Kealy Connor Lonning was raised in Waukon along with her two younger sisters by loving, supportive parents and surrounded by family. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education at the University of Northern Iowa and her Master of Arts degree in Education/Reading at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She married her hometown friend and classmate, Greg Lonning, and they initially lived in Wisconsin and Iowa, raising their six children. She was a teacher for 32 years.

In 2015, while their oldest son was grown and their older daughter was in college, the rest of the family moved to New Jersey, near New York City, so their boy/girl twins could chase their dreams. The Lonnings also knew their two adopted, biracial daughters would also benefit from the diversity in New Jersey. Kealy achieved a 30-year dream of becoming an author when her first children’s book was published in December 2018.

At the June 1 author event at Robey Memorial Library, Kealy Connor Lonning will read her first published children’s book OUR WONDERFUL YOU - a heartfelt, rhyming story about their oldest son growing up and following his dreams. Kealy is inspired by her children, and plans to write books about each of them.

Copies of Kealy Connor Lonning’s book will be available at the event. OUR WONDERFUL YOU is also available on Amazon in paperback or Kindle version.
