The 2019 Kee High School football roster lists 25 young men taking to the gridiron this season in the freshman through senior classes, with just over half of that list returning as varsity letterwinners from last fall’s 2-7 overall campaign for the Hawks. Those 15 veteran returnees include a distribution of seven seniors and five sophomores, with a smaller junior class returning all of its three members with letterwinning experience this season.

This year’s senior class is the largest of all classes contributing to this season’s grid effort with nine total players led by the returning letterwinning core of Brayden Gavin, Cam Olson, Dylan Peterson, Cade Rasque, Ryan Schulte, Joey Snitker-Derspina and Nate Winters. Out of that smaller junior class, Mat Gruber, Clayton Little and Hunter McKee also return as letterwinners, with a sophomore group of eight players returning Tyson Cota, Jaylen Drape, Alex Goetzinger, Buddy Hill and Damon Weber with varsity experience from last fall in their initial year of varsity eligibility.

“We look to the letterwinners to set the example for the underclassmen,” Kee football coach Chad Winters said. “We expect the players to practice a certain way and the returning letterwinners will lead that charge. We have challenged all of the players to improve on a daily basis. When they focus on improvement and challenging themselves in drills, they will not only make themselves better, but those around them as well.”
