Robert Strub
Robert Strub, 79, of Lansing died Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Gundersen Health Systems in La Crosse, WI. Funeral Mass was held Monday, October 14 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing with Rev. John Moser as the celebrant.
Robert Vincent Strub was born February 13, 1940 to Vincent and Edna (Halverson) Strub in Lansing. He proudly joined and served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959.
Robert was united in marriage with Janice Boesen in 1961, they later divorced. Robert was united in marriage with Joan Theobald in 1998. Throughout the years, Bob farmed, did construction, was owner of Strub Blacktopping and Trucking for many years and worked maintenance for the City of Lansing. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Bob enjoyed restoring vehicles, farming and going on car cruises with his 1934 Chevy Coupe. Bob also enjoyed the deer hunting parties with his family and friends.
Robert is survived by his wife, Joan Strub of Lansing; two children, Chris Strub and Sherry (Randy Snell) Strub, all of Lansing; four step-children, Lynda (Jerry) Veglahn of La Crescent, MN, Mary (Art) Doering of Brownsville, MN, Bruce Theobald of Stoddard, WI and Paul (Tammy) Theobald of Brownsville, MN; four grandchildren, Malory (Steve) Larson, Jenna (Shermain) Mosley, Chase Strub and Hunter Strub; nine step-grandchildren, Heather (Dan) Lindsay, Eric (Mallory) Veghahn, Marie (Nate) Doering, Shannon Doering, Michelle (Elliot) Breeser, Tim (Kristal) Theobald, Tyler Theobald, Rachel Theobald and Jacob Theobald; three great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; his siblings, Kathryn (Bob) Van Brocklin of Lansing, Mike (Rita) Klein of Palatine, IL, Elaine (John) Burg of Caledonia, MN, Ron (Peggy Steele) Strub of Sedona, AZ and Karen Strub of Deming, NM; and several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Edna Strub; his brother, Duane “Dewey” Strub; and a sister, Joan Downer.
Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Lansing assisted the family with arrangements.
