The Waukon boys basketball team faced one of its busiest schedules of the season this past week, but had a late-week winter storm trim that slate just a bit, postponing the Indians’ Friday, January 17 home game with New Hampton. Prior to that postponement, the basketball Tribe did end up playing a pair of games, handling a pair of Upper Iowa Conference opponents by double-digit final margins. The Indians first took care of North Fayette Valley in West Union Monday, January 13 by a 72-55 final result before pouring in their highest point total of the season on the way to an 88-74 victory at home over MFL/MarMac Thursday, January 16. Holding a 6-5 season record that includes a 1-4 mark in Northeast Iowa Conference play, the Indians were next scheduled to host Spring Grove, MN Monday, January 20 before making up that January 17 postponement but playing at New Hampton Thursday, January 23 prior to also playing at Oelwein Friday, January 24. The bucket Tribe will then host Crestwood Tuesday, January 28 before also playing host to Waverly-Shell Rock Friday, January 31.
