Fields of Faith 2020 event set for October 7 at Waukon High School

Students from Waukon High School will join thousands of other youth and any others who may be interested on athletic fields across the nation Wednesday, October 7 to share their Christian faith with fellow students and the general public for this year’s Fields of Faith event. The local event is now in its ninth year and will start at 7 p.m. at the Waukon High School football field that Wednesday evening. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.

Featured speaker for this year’s Fields of Faith event in Waukon will be Carl Fruechte, head football coach for Caledonia High School in Caledonia, MN. Fruechte was just named the Minnesota High School Football Coach of the Year and has the third-best winning percentage in Minnesota history with a career record of 169-31. His team has the longest active win streak in the nation at 67 games that include five State Championships. Above all, Fruechte has a passion to share his message of faith with anyone who will listen.

In addition to Carl Fruechte, several area high school students will also be sharing their own testimonies of faith. Fields of Faith is structured as a student-to-student ministry. Peers invite their own classmates and teammates to meet on their school’s athletic field to hear fellow students share their testimonies, challenge them to read the Bible and to come to faith in Jesus Christ.
