Dan and Jane Sivesind inducted into Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame ...

The Allamakee County 4-H Youth Development Committee is proud to recognize Dan and Jane Sivesind of Waukon as the 2020 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame inductees from Allamakee County. The 2020 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame inductees were inducted this year by a virtual ceremony that can be viewed online at the Iowa 4-H Foundations website at https://www.iowa4hfoundation.org.

The Sivesinds have been active supporters of the Allamakee County 4-H program for over 30 years. Their family has competed in numerous county fairs, regional shows, as well as state shows over the years. Instilling the value of 4-H in their children, they have continued the family tradition of giving back to the 4-H community.

With Dan’s passion and love for helping others, he has served as a dairy superintendent and served as a leader for the Ludlow Future Farmers for over 12 years. He was the Allamakee County dairy judging team coach and took youth to the Iowa State Fair to compete in the dairy judging contest for many years. To this day he still supports the dairy judging team by being a resource for the coaches and the youth by letting them come to his farm and evaluate the cattle.

As the Sivesind children are now grown and out of 4-H, they are very supportive and still help. The Sivesind family participates in the dairy share project with local 4-H youth. They also support the dairy auction by purchasing a bottle of milk with a group. This year’s 4-H Hall of Fame inductees continue to touch many lives through their support of the Allamakee County 4-H Program. Dan and Jane Sivesind are a great asset to the Allamakee County 4-H Program and their service to the 4-H program emphasizes the mission of the 4-H Hall of Fame. Submitted photo.
