Dale Kiesau

Dale A. Kiesau, 90, of Waukon died Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Northgate Care Center in Waukon. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 17 at 11 a.m. at Martin-Grau Funeral Home in Waukon with Karla Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Bethlehem Presbyterian Cemetery in rural Postville.

Dale Albert Kiesau was born May 27, 1930 in Waukon, the son of Walter and Nettie Louise (Nagel) Kiesau. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in rural Postville and attended Ludlow # 6 country school in rural Waukon. In 1947, he married Dora Jean Thorton at the Little Brown Church in Nashua; they later divorced. Dale built all of the buildings on his farm in Ludlow Township, rural Waukon, where he milked cows and raised hogs. He also worked at Highgrade in Postville for 20 years.

Dale was a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder. He enjoyed listening to country music, dancing and working on cars, especially his 1979 T-bird. Dale looked forward to going out to eat for lunch with his family on Sundays. He was a very kindhearted person and enjoyed helping others whenever he could.

Survivors include his son, Steve (Sue) Kiesau of Caledonia, MN; his life partner, Loretta Oakland of Waukon; seven grandchildren: Shannon, Matt and Carla Kiesau, Amanda Weed, Devin Hermanson, and Danon and Dawson Hageman; four great-grandchildren; a step-daughter, Lori Oakland of Des Moines and a brother, Dean Kiesau of Madison, WI. He is preceded in death by his parents; a step-daughter, Lisa Hageman; and two sisters-in-law, Rita and Jeannie Kiesau.

Honorary casketbearers are Shannon and Carla Kiasau, Amanda Weed and Roger Stock. Casketbearers are Matt and Noah Kiesau, Devin Hermanson, Danon and Dawson Hageman, and Dave Zimmerman.
