Waukon boys basketball team wins two of three NEIC battles

Rarely missed ... Waukon boys basketball senior Ethan O’Neill guides this shot toward the hoop in the Indians’ 78-65 home win over Decorah Tuesday, December 15. O’Neill shot nearly 78% from the floor in the ballgame, missing only one time on each side of the three-point arc on his way to 17 points while also grabbing five rebounds, swiping two steals and recording one each of assists and blocked shots. The Waukon boys basketball team played a busy slate of three Northeast Iowa Conference (NEIC) games this past week, winning two of those three contests to even up both their NEIC mark (2-2) and overall record (3-3) so far this season. The week started off with the bucket Tribe suffering its second consecutive NEIC loss, 57-53 at Crestwood Monday, December 14 in a game rescheduled from December 8, but the Indians bounced back the very next night with a 78-65 triumph at home over Decorah Tuesday, December 15 before finishing the week pulling out a 66-62 win at Charles City Friday, December 18.

The Indians will now enter their holiday break from school. They will return to the basketball court with a Saturday, January 2 non-conference game at Kee before hosting New Hampton Friday, January 8.
