Edward Lauerman, Jr.

Edward A. Lauerman, Jr. passed away peacefully January 31, 2021 at his home in Warrington, PA surrounded by his family. A Mass was held at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church and burial will be later in Waukon.

Ed was born July 24, 1937 in Sparta, WI to Ed and Marguerite Lauerman. Following graduation from Sparta High School he and his parents moved to Waukon.

In 1957 he started his banking career at Waukon State Bank as a bookkeeper. Throughout his banking career he was associated with Luana Savings Bank, Fidelity Bank and Trust in Dyersville, and Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank in Waukon where he served as President and CEO until his retirement. Upon his retirement he was recognized by the Iowa Bankers Association for 50 years in banking.

He married Ileta Christofferson May 6, 1961 at Immaculate Conception Church in Cedar Rapids. They were the proud parents of five children, Anthony Charles, Jenifer, Anne, E. Anthony III and Kimberly. Anthony Charles died in infancy and Anne in 1983.

Ed loved to visit and highlights of his day would be to chat with friends or customers. He was an avid golfer and woodworker. He and Chris had many wonderful years of travel.

He is survived by his wife, Chris; his daughter, Jenifer (Ken) Kolar; his son, E. Anthony Lauerman III (Marisol); his daughter, Kimberly Lauerman Jarding; and his grandchildren, Zachary Kolar (Sofia), Adrian, Jacob and Sarah Jarding, and Andrew, Evelyn and Connor Lauerman.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Anthony; his daughter, Anne; his parents; and a brother, Paul.
