Allamakee County vaccination partners condensing to one COVID sign-up list

Anyone ages 18-64 with underlying medical conditions now invited to sign up at single VMH website

Allamakee County COVID-19 vaccination partners, including Veterans Memorial Hospital, Gundersen Health System, Hartig Drug, Prescription Shoppe Pharmacy and Veterans Memorial Hospital Community and Home Care (Allamakee County Public Health), are going to begin working from a single list of people wanting the COVID-19 vaccine.

Anyone interested in being included on this list will need to access the hospital’s website, veteransmemorialhospital.com, to sign up. Those who are not able to sign up online can call 563-568-3411 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and ask for the COVID line for assistance with this process.

For those who have already signed up on a different list (or any list, including one offered by the above-mentioned vaccination partners these past few weeks), it is requested that they sign up again at www.veteransmemorialhospital.com. This will enable the partners to condense everyone to one list to avoid duplication and more efficiently and thoroughly schedule these vaccinations.

As vaccine is allocated to these partners, they will contact eligible individuals from the now single sign-up list to arrange a time for them to receive their first vaccination. At this time, Allamakee County continues to receive its allotted 300 doses each week of prime (first dose) vaccine.

It should be emphasized that no one should be signing up on the hospital’s website for their second dose of the vaccine, only the first, prime dose of the vaccine. Second doses of the vaccine will be followed up on by the administering facility and do not require additional sign-up.

More information about second dose vaccinations locally can be found on Page 5 inside the March 31, 2021 edition of The Standard with those articles also available on our website at the links below:
