Rob and Shannon Lloyd of Harpers Ferry, parents of the bride-to-be, and Jeff and Sara Melcher of Waukon and Chris and Brian Koth of Elkport, parents of the groom-to-be, wish to announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their children, Kelli Lloyd and James Melcher, to take place October 14, 2017 at St. Pius Cherry Mound, Harpers Ferry. A reception and dance will follow at the Allamakee County Fairgrounds Pavillion in Waukon.

The bride-to-be is a 2013 graduate of Waukon Senior High School and is employed  at Waukon Dental.

The groom-to-be is a 2011 graduate of Waukon Senior High School, a 2014 graduate of Minnesota State College Southeast Technical in Winona, MN and is employed by Advanced Engineering Technology in Waukon.

Jean Buntrock of Waukon will be celebrating her 80th birthday October 17.

Kieran Kruger and Casey Walsh of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Jaxtyn James Walsh, born September 20, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz. and measured 20-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a sister, Kylynn (3-1/2).

Grandparents are Teri and Randy Kruger of Waukon and Kim and Phyllis Walsh of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Marjean Fahey of Waukon, Jim and Cheryl Fahey of Decorah and Bev Walsh of Waukon.
 

Jon and Elizabeth Halverson of Monona announce the birth of their daughter, Harper Lynn Halverson, born September 25, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 9 lbs. 7 ozs. and measured 22-1/4 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins sisters, Hayden (6) and Hailey (3-1/2).

Grandparents are Jim and Julie Halverson of Monona, Clay and Wendy Yearous of Monona and Darlene Wild of Waukon. Arlene Yearous of Waukon is a great-grandparent.

Family, friends and relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kugel are invited to a celebration at the Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank Community Room in Waukon September 30 from 2-4 p.m. The couple recently exchanged vows and this event is being held for those unable to attend the wedding ceremony in Florida.

The Waukon High School Class of 1982 will be celebrating its 35th year reunion Saturday, September 30 at 6 p.m. with a photo scheduled for 7 p.m. The reunion is being held at Empty Nest Winery, 1352 Apple Road, Waukon.

Only hors d’oeuvres will be served with a cash bar. The cost is $20 and an additional $10 for a guest which can be paid at the door.

The Anderson, Busness Reunion was held August 13 at the restored barn of Robert and Eunice Kolsrud at 1243 Gjefle Drive, Waukon. The Norwegian table prayer was led by Robin Larson. Those in attendance sang the table prayer. Seventy-four people enjoyed a delicious potluck dinner consisting of broasted chicken and various dishes including delicious Norwegian delicacies.

Elmo and Sheryl Hagen shared information on living conditions in Norway which influenced ancestors to migrate to America. Lawrence Anderson shared information about the marriages of Busness and Anderson gentlemen and ladies which resulted in nineteen double cousins. He also shared where they settled in Center and Paint Creek townships.

Jayce Bohr and Samantha Marx announce the birth of their son, Linkin Everett Bohr, born September 17, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 12 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of his birth.

Grandparents are Jeff and Holly Bohr of Postville and Tanya Gokey of Prairie du Chien, WI. Great-grandparents are Jerry and Karen Heins of Postville, Terry and Barb Bohr of Ossian and Rita Wayne of Prairie du Chien.
 

Jade Fruth and George Fruth of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Atreyu Fruth, born September 19, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 5 lbs. 6 ozs. and measured 19 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins siblings, Kaylynne (7), Leela (2) and Aurora (1).
