Nick and Jessica Wild of Waterville announce the birth of their son, Henry Nicholas Wild, born October 7, 2020 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 10 lbs. 10 ozs. and measured 22 inches in length at his birth.
 

Steve and Sheryl Evanson of Waterville are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary with a card shower. Steve Evanson and Sheryl Wood were united in marriage October 18, 1980 at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church in rural Waterville with Pastor Paul H. Tobiason performing the ceremony.

Their children are Jennifer (Ronnie) Staggemeyer of Waukon, Elliott (Amy) Evanson of Waterville and Keith Evanson (Jalyn Souchek) of Memphis, TN. Their grandchildren include Leighton and Blake Staggemeyer and Claire and Myla Evanson.

Clayton and Brooke Welsh of Lansing announce the birth of their daughter, Madelyn Cathryn Welsh, born September 8, 2020 at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah. She weighed 6 lbs. 14 ozs. and measured 19-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins sisters, Emery (4) and Gabrielle (2).

Grandparents are Deb and Jeff Olson of Iowa City, Larry and Cathy Hudson of Centerville and Gary and Kim Welsh of Lansing.  Great-grandparents are Tom and Sonja Oliphant of Virginia, Bonnie Bailey and the late Kenneth Bailey of Oskaloosa, Vernita Olson and the late Clifford Olson of North Dakota, the late James and Bernice Hudson of Des Moines, and Duane and Marian Meier and Esther Welsh and the late William Welsh, all of Lansing.

Derrick and Christine Ihde of Marquette announce the birth of their daughter, Addison Ihde, born September 21, 2020 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 5 lbs. 5 ozs. and measured 18 inches in length at the time of her birth.

Grandparents are Cindy and Doug Ihde of Monona and Patty Peacock and Jon Smith of Center Point.

Sam and Shelby Schwartz of Waterville announce the birth of their son, Rhett Robert Schwartz, born September 19, 2020 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs. 8 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of his birth.

Grandparents are Dave and Joan Schwartz of Waterville and Jamie and Elaine Bodley of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Roger and Judy Radloff of Clermont and Craig and JoAnne Bodley of Postville.

Justin and Morgan Smerud of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Emmett Michael Smerud, born September 22, 2020 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs. 11 ozs. and measured 20-1/2 inches in length at his birth.

Grandparents are Brian and Suzette Mahoney of Waukon and Cullen and Denise Becker of Lansing. Great-grandparents are Maureen Mahoney of Waukon, Michael Mahoney of Waukon and Gene and Marcia Rosel of Decorah.

Robert and Gloria Hanson of Waukon will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary October 10. The couple married October 10, 1970 at Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon.

They have four children, Lynn (Casey) Larson, Kari (Derrick) Gibbs, Alan (Kasha Krueger) Hanson and John Hanson. They also have three granddaughters, Brittany (Tony Beneke) Johnson, Allison Gibbs and Andrea Gibbs, and a great-granddaughter, Kenleigh Ness.

Jen Eby of Adel and Larry Kubitz of Waukon exchanged vows in a wedding ceremony held at the Sullivan Brothers Center in Waterloo Saturday, July 25, 2020. George Heit officiated the service, and the Blessing was performed by Pastor Steve Oden, uncle of the groom.

The bride is the daughter of Jeff and Cynthia Eby of Adel. She graduated from Adel-DeSoto-Minburn (ADM) High School in Adel and the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. She is currently a first grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary School in Waterloo.

The groom is the son of Bruce and Deb Kubitz of Waukon. He graduated from Waukon High School and Upper Iowa University in Fayette. He currently teaches Social Studies at Hoover Middle School in Waterloo.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Guests were ushered in by Adam Martin and Zach Evans, friends of the couple, and Matt Eby, brother of the bride.

David and Calleen Adam of Postville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary October 3. The couple was married October 3, 1970 at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in rural Postville by Rev. Keith Kinsinger.

Their attendants were Loni LeGassick, Barb Guese, Dennis Shafer and Daniel Kugel. Their family includes daughter-in-law Bridget Adam and son, the late Scott Adam. They are blessed with five grandchildren: Ashley, Colin, Chance, Chase and Caylie; and one great-granddaughter, Layla.
