Veterans Memorial Hospital Community and Home Care is happy to announce they can now offer specialized wound care for patients in all areas of Veterans Memorial Hospital.

Deb Eberling, RN, BSN, Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse, recently joined the Community and Home Care Department as a home health nurse. When she is not out traveling taking care of home care patients, her specialty in wound care is being utilized for a variety of patients. She works with patients of all ages who have acute or chronic wounds, as well as patients with ostomies, which are a type of bowel or bladder diversion.

Eberling received her certificate to become a Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse from webWOCnurse.com in 2002. She then established an outpatient wound clinic at Palmer Lutheran Health Center in West Union. Since then, she has re-certified in both wound and ostomy nursing. She enjoys developing treatment plans that encompass a holistic approach to wound healing.

Eberling’s skills are being utilized not only in Home Care, but in all other areas of the hospital, both inpatient and outpatient. For more information, call Veterans Memorial Hospital Community and Home Care at 563-568-5660.
