Kee volleyball team gets early jump on 13th-rated Turkey Valley, but has its 2015 season ended with first-round regional tournament loss

The Kee volleyball team had its 2015 season brought to a close in the opening round of Class 1A regional tournament play Tuesday, October 20 at the home of a familiar foe, fellow Upper Iowa Conference team and Class 1A 13th-rated Turkey Valley. The Hawks battled the Trojans strongly in the opening set of the match, pulling out a 25-23 triumph over the host squad, but couldn’t hold off Turkey Valley in any of the next three sets, falling by scores of 14-25, 17-25 and 13-25 to have their season ended with the match loss.
The volleyball Hawks wrapped up their 2015 season with a 13-15 overall record, including a 7-2 mark in Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) play that placed Kee third in the final 11-team league standings. With the match victory, Turkey Valley advanced on to play second-rated Tripoli Tuesday, October 27, the Panthers sweeping Central Elkader in their opening-round match by scores of 25-11, 25-14 and 25-12 to begin a quest for yet another Class 1A State Tournament berth.
