Allamakee Community Education Association to celebrate American Education Week, November 16-20

American Education Week, observed November 16-20, presents Americans with an opportunity to celebrate public education and honor individuals who are working to make a difference in ensuring that every child receives a quality education. This year’s theme for American Education Week is "Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility".
Allamakee Community Education Association (ACEA) is a membership of teachers from the Allamakee Community School District dedicated to that principle. The Association takes pride in working positively and progressively for the needs of students, staff and the community.
Some of the roles that the Association plays throughout the community include forming committees to aid the school district and community development.  These committees include:  Teacher Leadership and Compensation, Teacher Quality and Professional Development, Waukon Chamber of Commerce, Adopt a Highway, Membership, Public Relations and Communications, and Government Affairs.
Members of the Allamakee Community Education Association may be seen cleaning the roadside along Old Stage Road, traveling Main Street on a brightly decorated float in the holiday parade, working at Corn Days, or displaying an education-themed tree at the Christmas Fantasy.
The members of the Allamakee Community Education Association appreciate the efforts of everyone within the school system and community who supports the efforts that teachers make to improve and enrich the lives of students. "Help us celebrate the amazing instructional assets we have in our community during American Education Week and thank educators for the differences they make," invited members of the ACEA.
