Kee girls track team places fifth at West Central and Waukon, takes second at MFL/MarMac

Kee girls track sophomore Nicki Wood soars to a personal-best effort of 15’9” to claim second place in the long jump at the Waukon Early Bird Invitational Tuesday, April 12. In addition to her long jump effort, Wood also finished eighth in the 100 meter dash and helped Kee to third place in the 4x200 and fourth place in the sprint medley. The Kee girls track team took part in its busiest week of the season, competing in three different meets this past week. The Lady Hawks took part in back-to-back meets to open the week, Monday, April 11 at the West Central Invitational held at Oelwein and Tuesday, April 12 at Waukon, placing fifth in the final team scoring of both meets. Kee then finished second in a solid team effort at the MFL/MarMac Invitational Thursday, April 14.

The Lady Hawks were scheduled to compete in the Crestwood Invitational Tuesday, April 19 before hosting their own home invitational Thursday, April 21, with details of that lone home competition being printed in a shaded box elsewhere on these Sports pages. Kee will then take part in the Clayton Ridge Invitational Tuesday, April 26 before returning to MFL/MarMac Thursday, April 28.
