Waukon High School was recently announced as the 2015-2016 winner of the Conduct Counts Parent/Coach Relationship video contest sponsored by the Iowa High School Athletic Association and the Iowa High School Sports Network. The winning commercial video was produced by Lisa Snitker, Waukon Middle/High School Librarian, and highlights how local coaches and parents foster healthy relationships in high school sports. The video was featured during the Iowa High School Boys State Basketball Tournament and will also be televised during the 2016 Iowa High School State Baseball Tournament and State Football Play-Off broadcasts. The video can also be viewed on the Conduct Counts website at http://www.conductcounts.com/2015-16-winners.html.

The Iowa High School Sports Network (IHSSN) and the Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) launched the comprehensive program known as CONDUCT COUNTS to promote and develop proper conduct, etiquette and behavior by students, student athletes, parents, officials and fans who choose to be involved in the educational and interscholastic activities offered as part of their school district’s overall curriculum. As the contest winner, Waukon High School was awarded a plaque and $2,000 to benefit the Allamakee Scholarship Fund.
