The Waukon boys basketball team started out its busy three-game slate pretty well this past week, but couldn’t maintain that success rate as the week came to a close. The basketball Tribe opened the week with a 76-45 manhandling of North Fayette Valley at home Monday, January 9 before falling in back-to-back contests that included an 81-46 Northeast Iowa Conference loss at New Hampton Friday, January 13 followed by a 63-58 loss at home to Waterloo East Saturday, January 14.

Now holding a 3-6 season record, 1-4 in Northeast Iowa Conference play, the basketball Tribe was scheduled to make up its postponed January 3 game at Decorah Monday, January 16 before hosting Oelwein Friday, January 20. The Indians will then play at Spring Grove, MN Monday, January 23 before traveling to Crestwood Tuesday, January 24 and then playing at Class 3A top-rated Waverly-Shell Rock Friday, January 27.
