Colleen was born August 2, 1942 in Lansing to Norbert and Helen (Kohlstad) Guider. Colleen graduated from St. George High School in 1960 and attended Viterbo College in La Crosse, WI.

Colleen was well known for her Irish humor and quick wit. She was an amazing singer. When Colleen sang, everyone stopped to listen. Her range of music included country, pop, Irish music and opera. As a child and young adult, Colleen's passions were horses and music. She raised and trained dozens of horses. Her favorites included Smokey, Trixie, Ginger, Buster and Stardust.

Colleen’s children fondly recall her singing the many ditties that she wrote for them, including "Easter Egg and a Christmas Wreath, George Washington had wooden teeth...". Colleen retired after many years at American Family Insurance in Madison, WI.
Colleen is survived by her sons, Michael Berg of Iowa City, Wayne Berg of Madsion, WI and Allen (Waukima) Berg of Cedar Rapids. Colleen was blessed with five grandchildren, Taylor, Alex, Jack, Aaron and Emma.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, Norbert Guider and Helen (Kohlstad) Guider; her brother, Patrick Guider; her sister, Donna (Guider) Leonard; and her lifelong best friend and the love of her life, her husband, John Peter Berg. John and Colleen experienced many trials and travails during their nearly 50 years together. They always believed that as long as they were together, they could handle anything. John and Colleen had one of those rare relationships. They were not simply man and wife; they were best friends, confidants and partners. They truly doted on each other. Colleen found great comfort with her faith and the knowledge that they would once again be together.
