On what may have been the most ideal day to compete, weather-wise, for the entire season so far, the Kee girls track team turned in some performances that shined brighter than that Thursday, May 4 sun at the annual Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) Meet hosted by Edgewood-Colesburg High School. Crowning three UIC champions and breaking three school records in the process, the Lady Hawks racked up 99 points to finish third in the final 11-team standings at the meet.

The Lady Hawks had their final invitational meet of the season canceled Monday, May 1 at Edgewood-Colesburg due to cool, wet weather. One final chance to extend this season will take place this Thursday, May 11 at the Hawks’ Class 1A State Qualifying Meet, also to be held at Edgewood-Colesburg High School and details of which can be found in a shaded box elsewhere on the Sports pages in the print edition and e-edtion of The Standard.
