Rausch and Johnson exchange vows July 1
Jane and James Johnson
Jane Elaine (Palmer) Rausch and James Dean Johnson were united in marriage July 1, 2017 surrounded by their family and close friends in one of the historic family farm barns at their home in rural Waterville/Monona. Officiating the ceremony was Loretta Muffett, niece and goddaughter of the groom.
The bride is the daughter of Norbert and Nola (Enyart) Palmer of Waukon, and the granddaughter of the late Emmett and Evelyn (Klees) Palmer, and Russell and Adeline (Smith) Enyart.
The groom is the son of the late Levi and Drucilla (Buege) Johnson of Waukon, and the grandson of the late Leo and Ruth (Ralston) Johnson and Ferdinand and Florence (Harris) Buege.
The parents of the bride were escorted down the aisle by the groom, and the bride was escorted down the aisle by her sons, Benjamin and Michael Rausch, to the songs “When I Say I Do” and “The Day Before You”.
The bride wore a champagne-colored gown with an overlay of lace, adorned with beading on the neckline and back. She carried a bouquet of peonies cut from gardens on the family farms, as well as from friends’ gardens, which were wrapped in blue tulle, burlap and pinned with pearl pins. Her bridesmaids wore blue dresses of their choosing and also carried bouquets of peonies made by the bride. The groom wore a navy blue suit and peony pink satin tie, with his attendants in white shirts, khaki trousers and royal blue ties.
Lois Humpal, friend of the bride, was Matron of Honor. Kris Rausch and Amber Moore, daughters-in-law of the bride; Sharon Palmer, sister-in-law of the bride; and DeAnn Constantine, goddaughter of the bride, were bridesmaids. Flower girls were Lena Rausch, granddaughter of the bride, and Hartley Constantine, great-niece of the bride.
Chuck Johnson, brother of the groom, was the best man. Rich Johnson and Dave Johnson, brothers of the groom, and Robert Palmer, brother of the bride, were groomsmen.
Ring bearers were Theo and Jeremiah Rausch, grandsons of the bride. Ushers for the occasion were Rachael Johnson, niece of the groom, and Cody, Riley and Hayden Palmer, nephews of the bride.
The ceremony was followed by a reception in the barn. Hostesses were Rose Jones and Ruth Brainard, sisters of the groom.
The couple honeymooned in Savannah and St Simon’s Island, GA and plan to make their home in rural Waterville/Monona.
