Waukon boys basketball team remains unbeaten with pair of big home wins, 91-44 over Sumner-Fredericksburg and 65-45 over Oelwein in Northeast Iowa Conference opener

That sort of contact sent Snitker to the free throw line for nine attempts in the contest, where he converted eight of those tries for half of his team-high 16 points. The Waukon boys basketball continued its early-season roll with another pair of sizable victories this past week, both of them at home. The Indians opened this past week with a recent team-scoring high of 91 points in a 91-44 home beat-down of Sumner-Fredericksburg Monday, December 4 before opening Northeast Iowa Conference play with a 65-45 home victory over Oelwein Friday, December 8 to post a 3-0 start to this season.

The Indians were next slated to hit the road for a pair of Northeast Iowa Conference contests, at Crestwood Tuesday, December 12 and at Waverly-Shell Rock, Friday, December 15 in a rare girl-boy doubleheader for Waukon basketball. The Indians will then wrap up the 2017 portion of this season’s schedule with a final pre-holiday game at home against Decorah Thursday, December 21. The basketball Tribe will return to action with a pair of back-to-back road contests after the holidays, at Charles City Friday, January 5 and against Wapsie Valley at Wartburg College in Waverly Saturday, January 6 before also playing at North Fayette Valley Monday, January 8.
