Word for Word 4/4/18

Do you think after Jesus’ resurrection it got the attention of at least the 500 that were eyewitnesses? He is still getting our attention 2000 years later!   The resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is by far the greatest event of all human history.

When you face the fire, it’s tremendously helpful to follow the footsteps of someone who has made it through. Upcoming speaker at New Life Christian Church, May 5, 7 p.m., Pastor Meka Dany will give testimony of God’s divine intervention in the darkest of circumstances. His story has encouraged and inspired countless people to face their own trials with confidence in God. Jesus assured us that we would all have troubles in this world but that we could rest in His victory.

Allow Pastor Dany to remind you through his own experience that we do not have to be overcome, even when all seems lost. God remains an ever present help in our troubles. Quoting from Pastor Dany, “God did something for me which I could not explain. Although I was not having any faith or hope for myself, there were many others that I had known through the years that were praying fervently for me, along with my family and churches.”

Pastor Dany continues, “God sent an angel to me who spoke to me. There are some Christians who become skeptical when someone speaks of supernatural encounters with angels, usually in fear of satan who disguises himself as an angel of light.”

As unusual as this story is, we must look to the Bible itself as well as the fruit of this experience in Pastor Dany’s life to judge the situation. Does not the Bible speak of angels as ministering spirits whom God Himself appoints to minister to us who are heirs of salvation? Surely God did not dispense with angels after the Bible was written, but rather gave us the Bible so that we would not dispense with them, nor be carried away by deception.

“When you walk through the fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.   For I am the Lord your God, the holy One of Israel, your Savior.”   (Isaiah 43:12-13)
