Glenn Beckman

Glenn Beckman passed away from neuroendocrine cancer April 30, 2019, less than two weeks before his 85th birthday. A graveside service for Glenn will be held at noon Saturday, May 11 at Oakland Cemetery in Waukon.

Glenn was born in Brimson, MN May 12, 1934 and was raised by his parents, Ted and Irja Beckman. Glenn attended Two Harbors High School and the University of Minnesota, where he studied electrical engineering. He served in the Army before joining the Federal Aviation Agency, and he retired from the FAA in 1994 after serving 34 years. His FAA career included stints in Waterloo; Hibbing, MN; Fargo, ND; Green Bay, WI; Chicago, IL; and, for the last 16 years he was the Airway Facilities Sector Manager at the FAA in Minneapolis, MN.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; by his brother, Donald; and by his loving and supportive wife of 53 years, Doloris (Kosbau) Beckman, who passed away in March of 2015. Doloris grew up in Waukon with the support of her parents and many aunts, uncles and cousins in the area. Glenn is survived by a niece, Ginger (Paul) Downing; three nephews, Donald (Helen) Beckman, Scott (Terri) Beckman and Ross (Sherry) Beckman; and several cousins.
