Goldie Zeimet

Goldie Zeimet, 88, of New Albin died Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, May 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Albin with Rev. John Moser as the celebrant. Burial was at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Albin.

Goldie was born September 7, 1930 to Henry and Helen (Arndt) Thimmesch in Freeburg, MN. Goldie was united in marriage with Thomas Zeimet December 29, 1949 at St. Joseph’s in New Albin. She was a homemaker and had worked part-time while her husband was in the military. Goldie was a tough old bird and enjoyed cooking and baking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her three children, Bonnie Zeimet, Patricia Coots and Michael Zeimet, all of New Albin; five grandchildren, Patti Ann, Patrick, James, Thomas and Melissa; many great-grandchildren; and one brother, Bob Thimmesch of Marion. Goldie was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Helen Thimmesch; her husband, Thomas Zeimet, June 1, 2007; a daughter, Leonette Zeimet; a grandson, Charles Baker; a great grandson, Logan Habibovic; a brother, Leo Thimmesch; and a son-in-law, Duane Kumpf.

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Lansing assisted the family with arrangements.
