EACSD Board of Directors meeting postponed until election recount is completed

The regular monthly meeting for November of the Eastern Allamakee Community School District (EACSD) Board of Directors has been postponed until further notice following the one-vote final margin in the November 5 election race for the District 2 seat on the EACSD Board of Directors and a requested recount of those vote totals. Those November 5 election results initially showed a 201-200 vote margin in favor of challenger Tony Becker over District 2 incumbent Bruce Palmborg, with those unofficial totals being confirmed by the November 12 canvassing of election results by the Allamakee County Board of Supervisors.

Following that canvassing, Palmborg requested a recount of those EACSD District 2 ballots, a request approved by the Allamakee County Board of Supervisors Thursday, November 14 with that recount expected to be completed yet this week. Once that recount is completed and the winner in that District 2 race is further confirmed, the EACSD Board will then reschedule its November meeting, where that winning candidate and two others, re-elected incumbents Bobbie Goetzinger of District 1 and At-Large Kelli Mudderman, will be officially sworn into office.
