Main Street Lansing sponsoring “Main Street Madness” promotion; Food drive scheduled for Small Business Saturday

“Main Street Madness”, Lansing Main Street’s holiday punch card shopping promotion, is anticipating a record-breaking year with even more prizes. This year’s “Madness” runs from November 11 through December 14. Last year, $220,100 was spent in downtown Lansing by “Main Street Madness” punch card promotion participants.

To get started this year, look for a participating merchant poster and pick up a free punch card. The cards can then be validated with either punches or stamps in five-dollar increments for purchases made between November 11 and December 14. Once a card is full ($100 in purchases), turn it in and start another. Shoppers are welcome to complete as many cards as they can.

Completed cards will then be entered into a drawing for one of four Lansing Downtown Dollar prizes this year of $200, $150, $100 and $75. Gift cards from local businesses will also be awarded.

Saturday, November 30 during Small Business Saturday in Lansing, bring a “Main Street Madness” punch card shopping downtown and receive double punches during Small Business Saturday. Main Street Lansing is hosting a food drive this same day for the Lansing Iowa Food Trust (LIFT). Bring donations to the Main Street Lansing office at 253 Main Street and be entered to win one of three $10 gift cards from Lansing IGA.

Any food or monetary donations are welcome with specific donation requests from LIFT to include: cereal, crackers, canned fruit and vegetables, pork and beans, pancake mix, syrup, jelly and jam, peanut butter, instant potatoes, pasta and sauce, canned meats, bottled water and juice, cake mix and frosting, macaroni and cheese, ramen noodles, paper towels and personal care items (such as shampoo, soap and toilet paper).
