Margaret Krambeer

Margaret Krambeer, age 69, of rural Decorah died Friday, November 15, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society - Waukon. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, November 20 at Glenwood Lutheran Church, Decorah with Rev. Stacey Nalean-Carlson officiating. Interment was at Glenwood East Cemetery.

Margaret Mina (Gramlich) Krambeer was born February 7, 1950, the daughter of Daniel Emil and Ella Mae (Pratt) Gramlich at the Waukon General Hospital. She was baptized and confirmed at First Presbyterian Church in Waukon. Margaret attended elementary school in Waukon and graduated from Waukon High School. After graduation, she worked various babysitting jobs.

May 23, 1970 she was married to Dennis Krambeer at First Presbyterian Church in Waukon by Pastor William J. Tjaden. Margaret worked at Wapsie Produce in Decorah.  She enjoyed watching Dennis and Ken Lough play softball and going to her children’s activities. She loved to bake, play cards and do crossword puzzles. She was an active member of Glenwood Lutheran Church and the ladies aid.

Throughout her life, Margaret was a thoughtful, caring and loving wife, mom, grandma and aunt. She was known for helping in the garden and making baked goods with others. After her first surgery, she started listening to Little Dale Saturday mornings and hardly missed a Saturday.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Dennis; her daughter, DeAnn Krambeer of Decorah; her sons, Tony Krambeer of Decorah and Alex (Angela) Krambeer of Decorah; her grandsons, Xander and Logan Krambeer; one step-grandson, Ron Olivier, Jr.; her brothers and sisters, Gerald “Butch” (Mary) Gramlich of Waukon, Gloria (Ken) Lough of Waukon and Bob (Diane) Gramlich of Waukon; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Wayne Kirkeby of Decorah, Dolores Hughes of Frankville, Nona (Wayne) Stone of Lansing, Gordon (Mary) Krambeer of Hiawatha, Tom Krambeer of Overbrook, KS, and Ned Krambeer and Jerry (Janice) Krambeer of Decorah; along with many nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Ella Mae (Pratt) Gramlich; her sister, Linda Kirkeby; her grandparents, Anton and Olive Pratt; her father- and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Olga (Livingood) Krambeer; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Dick Hughes, Shirley (Homer) Evert, Margaret Krambeer, Ronald (Carole) Krambeer and Lawrence (Carolyn) Krambeer, Jr.; and her niece, Kim Wilhelm.

Honorary casketbearers were her grandsons, nieces and nephews. Casketbearers were Bill Lough, Jeff Gramlich, Tim Lough, Wesley Krambeer, Shawn Hughes, Darby Stone, Rick Gramlich and Bryon Gramlich.

Schluter-Balik Funeral Home of Decorah assisted the family with arrangements.
