Jack Krumwiede was born March 25, 1932 in Des Plaines, IL. He was the son of Frank Krumwiede and Lillie Parson. At the age of 17, Jack enlisted in the U.S. Army at Fort Bragg. He was later deployed to Korea where he was wounded in battle, and for that he received a Purple Heart. After returning home he helped raise his five siblings.
December 7, 1966 he was united in marriage to Delores May Wales in Crystal Falls, MI. The two raised 12 children together.

While Jack’s voice was gruff, those that knew him best remember his sense of humor and love for his fellow man. With a gift of gab, love of animals, horseback riding and spending time with family, Jack didn’t know a stranger.

He is survived by his six children: Cindy (Wayne) Parker of Rhinelander, WI, Jim Apfel of Waterloo, Bob Apfel of Waterloo, Rogette Apfel of Lansing, Jackie (Mike) Moody of Harpers Ferry and Don Krumwiede of Belton, TX; 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ed, Ken and Clifford; and three sisters, Alice, Karen and Cathy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lillie Krumwiede; two sons, Michael Apfel and Willie Apfel; four daughters, Dawn Anderson, Shirley Radtke, Roxanne Apfel and Jeannette Krumwiede; two granddaughters, Jessica Krumwiede and Nicole Douglas; and two brothers, Frank and Phil.

He will be missed by all who knew him.
