Lansing City Council approves rate increases at City Marina; Spring Clean-Up Day is April 14

by Alexis Johnson

The Lansing City Council met in special session Wednesday, March 4. The meeting discussion centered around a Main Street Matters update and reports from the Parks Board and City Clerk.

Main Street Matters is working on updating the Lansing website, which should be completed soon. The hope is to provide more information about Lansing and what is happening in the community.

Angel Walleser was appointed to the Parks Board. That board is still in need of one more person to be completely filled. It was also reported that the local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops will continue operating the concession stands during the summer youth recreation season and Lansing Fish Days. A motion was made and seconded to approve the Parks Board report.

The council approved the City serving as the fiscal sponsor for the Allamakee Community Foundation Grant on behalf of the Splash Pad Committee. The council also approved increases in rates at the City Marina as follows: 1.5% increase for marina slip rentals, levee lot rates from $16 per foot to $17 per foot, winter storage rates from $439.55 to $480.00, and the winter storage fee for S&S Rentals from $1385.60 to $1425.

Tuesday, April 14 has been set as Spring Clean-Up Day in Lansing. There will be flyers posted around Lansing listing what Town & Country Sanitation will and will not take during that clean-up day event.
