Dayton Fish

Dayton L. Fish, 65, of Luana died peacefully at home April 29, 2020 after a courageous 10-year battle with cancer. Dayton’s wishes included no formal services. He will be laid to rest at the Rossville Cemetery at a later date.

Dayton was born August 22, 1954, the son of Lester Vernon Fish and Lorna Ruth (Decker) Fish. He was the youngest of four boys. He was raised on the family farm outside of Rossville.

Dayton was married August 22, 1998 to Joan M. Bunting at Pikes Peak in McGregor. Between the two of them, they had seven children and 21 grandchildren. Dayton  farmed his entire life on the family farm milking cows and raising beef cattle. After his initial cancer diagnosis, Dayton retired; he then continued to help out neighboring farmers as needed and babysitting his grandkids. His hobbies included riding his Harley, spending time with his grandkids, and traveling with his wife. Prior to his cancer diagnosis, he enjoyed spending time at the Old Rossville Store with friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law. He is survived by his wife, Joan; their seven children and 21 grandchildren; his mother-in-law; and his three brothers.
